Sunnah Fasts

Reviving the Sunnah - Fasting the days of Al-Ayyam al-Bid (the white days) - Iftar on Sunday 5th February 2023

Assslamu’Alaikum,

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to fast the 13th, 14th and 15th of every lunar month. In Arabic, these days are called Al-Ayyam al-Bid (the white days).

It is reported that the three monthly white day fasts are the voluntary fasts upon which the Prophet (SAW) was most regular and consistent, keeping them even when travelling.

*“The Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to command us to fast the (three) days with the bright nights (al-Ayyam al-Bid), the 13th, 14th and 15th [of every lunar month]”.* [Nasa’i]

To support the act of fasting and the blessing of opening fasts together, MCWAS will be providing Iftar on *Sunday 5th February 2023*. This falls on one of the white days.
