About - Muslim Cultural Welfare Association of Sutton

MCWAS was established in 1981 to provide a community centre to the muslims of Sutton. The Association moved into its current premises in 1996 and the centre was fully refurbished in 2013 with the generous funds from the committed community. The founding member of MCWAS was Lal Hussain MBE (late), sadly he passed away in May 2017, may Allah have mercy on his soul and grant him highest level in janaah.

Social

Social activities are required to keep the youth and community engaged - in the coming weeks we intend to create online youth Clubs, Keep Fit Classes and regular online Zoom Breakout Rooms
Spirituality & Counselling

We intend to provide online counselling sessions and community activities to improve our spirituality and well being
Community

2020 has been a very challenging year for the mosque and us all. COVID has made us re-evaluate the important aspects of our lives and brought so many families together. It has also made us realise how much we need your support and attendance to make our mosque special. Many thanks to you all for donating and volunteering in these difficult times!
Sisters

We understand our community will not flourish without the active involvement of our sisters therefore we have activities for our young girls, such as Chill Out Club, weekly social gatherings between sisters, prophetic medicine and Al Huda classes online
Educational

During COVID attending Madrasah has now become very risky for the health of our community. We now have an online madrasah every weekday. For enrolling your child please contact email@mcwas.org
The MCWAS Friday Lockdown Sabr Series delivered by Iqbal Nasim is open to all..if there is one thing we need more of, its Sabr! Please join the weekly zoom invite.
Religious

Along with regular 5 daily prayers, our Imams provide religious teachings periodically online. Iqbal Nasim, Dr Saalim Al Azhari and Imaam Amir Isap are regular Jumuah Khateebs and we intend to increase online events in the coming weeks
